Youth fatally stabbed in throat with scissors amid Jagaddhatri puja festivities!

A young man was murdered with scissors in a dispute that broke out during the idol immersion of Jagaddhatri Puja. The incident took place in Chingrighata area of Kolkata on Saturday night.

According to sources, preparations were being made to immerse the idol of Jagaddhatri Puja in the area. Meanwhile, a dispute started between the two groups over playing music at loud volume. The dispute deepened from here and a young man named Bittu attacked the neck of a young man named Saheb Ali with scissors. Saheb fell down bleeding. When taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

The aftermath saw a public outcry at Chingrighata intersection, with protesters demanding the immediate arrest of Bittu, who was said to be absconding after the incident. In a subsequent development, Bittu was located in the area this morning and subjected to physical assault by an angry crowd before being hospitalized in critical condition.

CP Bidhannagar Gaurav Sharma intervened in the situation, trying to ease tensions in the Chingrighata area. Unfortunately, the incident triggered acts of vandalism, including damage to taxis. State Fire Minister Sujit Bose visited the deceased's family to offer condolences and called for the perpetrator's punishment.

The Bidhannagar South Police has initiated an investigation based on the filed complaint, aiming to bring justice in this unfortunate incident.
